JFR 3W is a very early Leyland Olympian, it was built up on the 14th chassis constructed and entering service in June 1981, the same month as GFR 101W the first very first production Olympian for Ribble. this batch 2101-2113 were. in fact, the only production Olympians on W plates, making Ribble the only NBC fleet with W reg Olympians, the only other W reg English Olympian was the prototype Northern Counties example, NJA 568W, for Greater Manchester PTE. This late 1980s view finds 2103 in full Stagecoach stripes entering Blackburn at Eanam whilst working a Hyndburn Circular service. The bus carries advertising for Bénédictine an herbal liqueur beverage developed by Alexandre Le Grand in the 19th century and produced in France. Burnley Miners' Club is the world's biggest single consumer of Benedictine liqueur, after Lancashire regiments acquired a taste for it during the First World War.
