Designed by architect William Schickel, The Century Building was built in 1880-81. The Queen Anne style Schickel used is unusual for a commercial building. Barnes & Noble has occupied the landmark building since the restoration of its facade in 1994-95. It has been the largest remaining B&N store since the closing of the much larger original flagship store on 5th Ave. For more information see:
