It's the best of both worlds when one experiences a Spring snow like we did in Mammoth Lakes, CA in May, 2017. At Twin Lakes the ice was beginning to melt while the trees and mountains were covered in fresh snow which wouldn't last long. The sky shows wispy Cirrus clouds and a Ghost Moon completed the scene.
The prominent rock formation high on the Sierra Nevada peaks in the background is Crystal Crag, a popular rock climbing destination. To the right of it and below, in a clearing through the trees, you can make out Double Falls which brings the snow melt down into the lake.
