The 'Ponce City Market' is a relatively new development within the old Sears, Roebuck and Company Building on Ponce de Leon Avenue in Atlanta, GA. Originally completed and opened in 1926, the building remained a large retail store for Sear, from 1926 until 1978, and remained a regional office for Sears until 1987. It was the largest building in the South when it opened as a retail store, warehouse facility, catalog center and regional office for Sears heavy marketing in the rural South.
Today, the Ponce City Market is a mixed use facility in a much revitalized and vibrant area of the City of Atlanta. Residences, retail, restaurants and office space fill the renovated spaces, and the building is directly connected to the ambitious 'Beltline' project of Atlanta.
